Indications
The Lipofilling / Lipostructure procedure is indicated in order to restore volume and shape to the face.
Description
The Lipofilling / Lipostructure procedure involves carrying out a transplantation of fat tissue that is harvested from one part of the body and then transplanted into those areas in which volume has been lost:
- the region around the eyes;
- the jaw;
- the deep creases of the nasolabial folds (smile lines) and marionette grooves;
- the lips;
- the chin.
Typically fat is harvested from the stomach and the lower limbs.
Hospital stay
The Lipofilling / Lipostructure operation is carried out under local anesthetic in day hospital.
Recovery time
For a few days after the Lipofilling / Lipostructure the patient will have some swelling and bruising in the areas that have been treated. It will take about 2 weeks in order to return to a normal social life. The final results, however, may be appreciated after about 2 months.
